July 2012, Volume 2, Issue 7

Happy July, everyone!

My favorite article this month is the nice, nuanced overview of the rise of integrative medicine by David H. Freedman of the Atlantic. It is especially important to note the comments about the huge role stress plays in disease, and the role mind-body medicine could play in creating better, evidence-based care. Also note the comment at the end from one of the biggest alternative medicine critics, in regards to hypnosis: “But I believe it works.”

I am a huge fan of pranayama as a way to build energy naturally, without needing caffeine/energy drinks/etc.
